CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP AT NALTAR

Mrs Ghazala Tahir, Director Academics visited CSK Falcons High school between 27 October to 02 November 2025 and conducted an essentially required capacity building workshop, especially for the newly inducted teachers. Addition of Infrastructure at CSK Falcons School, Naltar Bala, Gilgit

  1. Third Phase at Naltar Bala(School Auditorium). A decision was taken to add an auditorium on top of the single storied building and convert the class rooms at ground floor to residential quarters. It was also decided to add three additional class rooms in the Hall area of the old Academic Block to take the total to seven, and also add two small size class rooms on one side of the under-construction auditorium. The planned development would make a total number of 26 class rooms, one library and one Laboratory available, that would suffice the future needs of CSK School.
  1. The third phase was launched after the necessary architectural work by ‘Tijaarat Developers’. Some materials were again provided by the donors and works started in August 2025 to get completed by most likely middle of 2026. At Naltar, the construction works tend to drag as the masonry works have to be halted by November due to drop in temperatures and are restarted some times in April. However, during the process of construction of auditorium, quite a few delays were encountered due to weather and non-availability of skilled labour. Additionally, since the auditorium was to be situated on top an already constructed building, it needed to be done very carefully and articulately.
  1. Additional Class Rooms in the Hall. Four make-shift class rooms and a Library were functioning in the Hall Area. The teachers and students had been complaining about the noise disturbance from the adjacent classes. A decision was taken to address that complaint by converting the already existing structures to proper class rooms and take their total tally to seven class rooms and a Library. However, due to the inordinate delays, the work spilled over to later part of 2026. The final completion could take place in 2027 session.

Female Representation in the BoT

  1. PCP during their certification process had raised an observation pointing out the absence of female representation in the Board. Later, the FBR has also pointed out the same and also instructed the Trust to increase the female representation in the Board as recommended by the PCP ie 33% of the Board strength (Which is 7).
  1. The BoT concluded that since the number of Trustees as given in the Trust Deed could not be altered, the changes had to be made within the existing parameters. Consequently, three Board members, i.e. AVM Ijaz Malik (Retd), Air Cdre Aftab Iqbal(Retd) and Major Ovais Shahid(Retd) volunteered to tender their resignations from the BoT to create space for the female members while staying within the parameters set by the Trust Deed. All three gentlemen emphasized that they would continue to work to realize the objectives of the Trust. Chairman requested Air Cdre Aftab to keep performing his duties as Secretary of the Trust and Major Ovais Shahid(Retd) to continue managing his areas of responsibilities ie as CEO. He also requested AVM Ijaz to continue his drive in the realm of publicity and marketing to bring in more donors on board.
  1. PCP had also raised an observation about the absence of a properly selected CEO who should also not be a voting member of the Board. Since the Board had seen and evaluated the functioning of Major Ovais Shahid (Retd) in administrative and operational domains, therefore, he was nominated as CEO of the Trust. Chairman also asked the secretary to include the three honourable members in the General Body. All three gentlemen graciously accepted the request and membership of the General body.
  1. A meeting of the General Body was called on September 20, 2025 to conduct elections as given in Para 14 of the Trust Deed. Only three proposals, duly seconded by worthy members had been received against three vacant seats. In view of no other contestants, the three nominated female members got elected unopposed and after following laid out procedure, their names were forwarded to Dir I&L, Registration Office for inclusion as Trustees.
